Neil deGrasse Tyson Blows Your Mind in Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey Will Blow Your Mind

Once upon a time a great mind known as Carl Sagan helped ushered the maiden voyage of Cosmos, helping bring about new appreciation for our universe. Now his legacy continues with the help of cult hero Neil deGrasse Tyson in the newest installment of the series to launch into orbit (like that?) with Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey.

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is a visual feast in its first episode. Viewers are invited to quite literally step aboard a CGI spaceship with their cult hero, deGrasse Tyson. It’s a swift trip around the Milky Way from there, quickly transitioning to the lonely Voyager 1 and everything else beyond.

People drive across the country just to hear Neil deGrasse Tyson lecture about all of recorded history. I have to imagine for some people, mainly those like me, Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey is as close to it gets to having a beer with the man and geeking out on all matters of our inexplicable existence.

Aside from providing incredible  and entertaining animations that command your attention throughout 43 minutes, Cosmos is so engrossing in large part to its star and its all inclusive intelligence. The intelligence behind the series is inviting, never stuffy.

Neil deGrasse Tyson, once a simple kid from the Bronx, was influenced heavily by Carl Sagan in his early life. Now he’s helping a whole new generation get excited about the sciences. Check out the first episode of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and climb aboard deGrasse Tyson’s spaceship.
