There is always plenty to do in Liverpool and this year is even more special, with the city hosting Liverpool 2018, a yearlong celebration honoring modern culture, ancient discoveries and future trends. And this spring offers some of the best new and traditional events, some even featured on Liverpool One, that are fun for the whole family.

Feast of Fire

This new festival, inspired by the traditions of Northern Europe, kicks off this spring and is a great event for your entire family. Starting over Easter weekend, it is a tradition to light bonfires. Feast of Fire is a mini-festival to give you an up and close personal experience to these bonfires by offering fire fueled sculptural installations that are placed throughout a historic garden. The festival is complete with plenty of food and drink vendors along with pop-up art galleries and live performances.

Randox Health Grand National Festival 2018

A well-known event that is a thrilling experience for the whole family takes place in April. Over 600 million tune in to catch 40 of the fastest horses and best jockeys to compete at the Randox Health Grand National Festival. The event offers sports betting for the adults, but plenty of activities and entertaining races for the kids. Plus, what better way to celebrate the legendary Grand National Day, which takes places every year on April 14th.

Tall Ships Regatta

The Tall Ships Regatta returns again this year to River Mersey. The river links a trio of port cities, Liverpool, Dublin and Bordeaux. The vibrant regatta includes the racing of ships across the Irish Sea and Bay of Biscay. This is the 5th time that Liverpool will be hosting this event and it will be held over the weekend of May 25th. The masted ships are a stunning site and is plenty of unique entertainment to keep the family busy, with live music and even street animation.
