Discover Cloud Forest in Singapore

Singapore is full of picturesque places to visit, but Cloud Forest is an experience. (And one that you’ll never forget).

Anyone who’s planning on going to Singapore, or has moved there recently through a Singapore visa agency shouldn’t hesitate to take some time out for a short trip down to Cloud Forest. It can be a fresh sight after being in the city all day!

It’s part of the Marina Bay Gardens, which includes a variety of tropical destinations… So what’s special about Cloud Forest?

Well, does the world’s tallest indoor waterfall sound cool? If so, it’s likely you’re going to have a good time there. Once I’d encountered Cloud Forest, I was left in complete awe. There’s truly nothing else like it anywhere.

It essentially depicts what it feels like to be walking around in equatorial mountains. It’s difficult to put into words how it feels to be over 1000 metres above sea level, but it’s captured perfectly here.

The Main Attraction

The piece de resistance is without a doubt the Cloud Mountain. Its sheer scale and enormity is mind-blowing. The structure alone is 42 metres high and has been intricately designed and structured using things like peacock ferns, orchids, bromeliads as well as other materials at our disposal from nature.

The crazy thing is, you can ride this man-made mountain all the way to the top in an elevator! (Don’t worry, it’s completely safe). Furthermore, if you’re curious to know what it’s like to hike down a mountain, there’s a path specifically made for this. You’re surrounded by nothing but nature and that’s something I think most of us could benefit from once in a while.

But if you’re not into nature, you may find it to be monotonous.

Exploring Cloud Forest

Once you get on the elevator up Cloud Mountain, you’ll be introduced to a number of different levels. Each one has something new to explore and the one that really caught my attention was the Lost World. The type of vegetation on sight here can usually only be found in places that are 2000 metres above sea level! (Being located at the very top of the Cloud Mountain may have also been a big contributor to my enthusiasm for that particular level).

The Secret Garden was the other part of Cloud Mountain that gained a lot of attention. It gives you an insight into nature and how much it has changed in today’s world. There was a plethora of plants that I had no idea about. Unfortunately, a lot of them have become severely rare, but I felt lucky to be able to see a part of nature that most people won’t ever know about.

The other stunning places that you can gaze upon and gain knowledge from include:

  • The Crystal Mountain.
  • Cloud Walk.
  • Tree Top Walk.
  • The Cavern.
  • Earth Check.
  • Waterfall View.
  • +5 Degrees.

Should You Go To Cloud Forest

My immediate answer is yes simply due to the experience I had. I’m not going to pretend to be someone who’s really into nature and is a green finger, but even I was able to be transported into a completely different world. It was vibrant and fresh and the indoor air conditioner definitely helped after spending a day outdoors in Singapore!

I’d recommend it to people of all ages as it’s a place where you can relax and take in the stunning scenery of the enormous waterfall and colourful vegetation that surrounds you. Although, if you’re afraid of heights, you may want to be careful about where you decide to venture to within Cloud Forest. Avoiding the Cloud Walk in particular may be a wise option for those with a phobia of heights.

If you’re someone who’s infatuated by nature and greenery, then I can confidently say that you’ll treasure the time you spend there forever. But what if you don’t find trees and plants all that intriguing?

In this case, taking this trip may be a waste of time for you. The entire place is all about greenery and plants, so if that doesn’t intrigue you, the admission fee may not be worth it.

My Final Thoughts

Cloud Forest is somewhere that I think many people could be infatuated by. It teaches you an incredible amount about nature and the planet that we live on.

Any of you who are still unsure about visiting Cloud Forest can take a look at some of the reviews online to get more of an insight. It seems as though the majority of people had a great time, but there are some who found it to be boring.

There are tons of things to go and see in this country. This is just one of the many attractions available to you anytime of the year!
