The twisted amusement park known as Dismaland is only open for a couple more weeks. Controversial artist Banksy designed Dismaland and has been compared to a creepy Disneyland. The art exhibit is definitely a terrifying twist on the park that is called the happiest place on earth.
Also called a bemusement park, it will only be open until September 27th. Tickets have been selling out very quickly and so far it has been a huge success. The park is even complete with workers who get into spooky character like a stone-faced greeter at the gate that greets guests.
There is a sign at the front that says lawyers, spray paint, marker pens and knives are banned. These are just a couple of the many ways the artist takes a jab at the corporate world. After guests finally get through the gate, they are welcomed with a giant creepy castle that sits in murky water right next to a crashed police van.
Dismaland is full of crazy Disney-related things like a crash scene of Cinderella’s coach. There are some actual rides, like one that has visitors navigate small boats in water surrounded by floating bodies. Three different galleries are on display that includes pieces from Banksy, Damien Hirst, Jenny Holzer and more. The exhibit shows off work from over 50 artists from 17 different countries.
Tickets are only $5 dollars. But only 4,000 tickets are sold each day, so it is hard to get your hands on tickets. The warped theme park is obviously not for everyone. But if you are looking for a smoky good time, head to Dismaland and enjoy all of the unique works of Banksy. But get there soon; this is your last chance of experiencing the craziness of Dismaland.
