Trevor Noah just finished his first week as the new host of The Daily Show and so far viewers seem pretty pleased. Beloved host Jon Stewart made his departure this summer and we all have been anticipating Noah’s debut.
Over 3 million people tuned into Noah’s first night making it the third most watched episode in the show’s history. The second most watched episode was Stewart’s final show and the most viewed was when Stewart had Barack Obama on the show.
The 31-year-old comedian from South Africa has some nice reviews out there and is so far a huge hit on social media with people raving about his first week hosting. The host said he will continue Jon Stewart’s war on bullshit and a lot of viewers seem to like the fresh face on the Daily Show.
So far Noah has had a smooth start and seems like he is fitting in nicely on Comedy Central’s hit show. It will take time though to really fill Stewart’s shoes. Stewart hosted the show for 16 years so it is going to be difficult for Noah to get his own groove and become the real face of the show. But a lot of viewers already see potential with Noah and if he keeps it up, he could very well be just as awesome as Stewart.
The show is a little different now, with a new spin and new design, but it is working. It is just an updated twist on Stewart’s Daily Show. The show is going to continue to air the same type of content and discuss the same type of topics, just in a new way with a new face. Noah is also a smoother host and doesn’t stumble over his words like Stewart. But that is one thing I did love about Stewart.
Of course it was great that Noah expressed gratitude. He knows that people saw something in him ad believes in him and he is very thankful for that. I think a lot of the country sees it too. Welcome to the Daily Show and into our homes every night, Trevor Noah!
