In order to study this trend, we took a look at the men’s watch models that women talk about the most online through Linkfluence. We analyzed all the 2019 “posts” to extract the percentage of comments written by women. So here is the ranking of the most popular men’s watches with women.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak
Unveiled in 1972 at the Basel Motor Show, Audemars Piguet’s Royal Oak is considered the world’s first luxury sports watch model with its octagonal bezel with visible screw heads, its tapestry dial and its robust steel case. Curiously, this very masculine, almost aggressive model was the brand’s first watch available in a ladies’ version with the Lady Royal Oak. Despite her masculine appearance, she is very popular with women, especially thanks to Charlize Theron, Drew Barrymore or Sharon Stone. It is, moreover, one of expert Giorgia Mondani’s favorite watches. Wearing such an accessory shows that the gender line really tends to blur. In 2019, 173,000 posts were devoted to this watch. And although women say little about it, with 1% of comments, they are recruited from all age groups.
