Just a few months ago a Foo Fighter fan in the small town of Cesena made an epic video of 1,000 musicians performing the band’s hit song Learn to Fly. Fabio Zaffagnini was the mastermind behind the project in hopes of grabbing the band’s attention to get them to play a show in his town.
Well it worked. Foo Fighters’ front man David Grohl saw the video went it went viral and promised that the band would make a trip out there and now it is official. The Foo Fighters will travel to the small Italian city of Cesena on November 3rd. This will be the start of the rock band’s 11 European show schedule. Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters will perform on a small basketball arena in a town of fewer than 100,000. The town is usually not a top spot for rock concerts so this is a pretty big deal to locals.
I am not shocked at all that the Foo Fighters are putting on a show in Cesena. They have always been so dedicated to their fans. For example, earlier this summer Grohl fell off stage while performing and broke his leg. He actually came back out after getting his leg checked out backstage and finished the show. He did have to cancel other shows, but you could tell he was so upset to have to do that.
I can’t wait to see footage from concert. The locals are going to go crazy! Check out Zaffagnini’s awesome video that has been played over 26 million times.
