With David Letterman stepping down from his over 20-year reign as the host of The Late Show, and comedian Stephen Colbert taking the helm. We thought it would be a great tribute to show Colbert’s best work from his time on The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Strangers with Candy and other comedic endeavors.
Strangers with Candy
Colbert had been working as a correspondent on The Daily Show for about a year before he got his first major Comedy Central role on Strangers with Candy. Colbert plays the maniacal Chuck Noblet a history teacher in the backwards high school where the show takes place.
If you are unfamiliar with Strangers with Candy, it’s basically a parody of high school dramas like Dawson’s Creek with a 40-year-old woman as the lead. Here are Colbert’s best moments from Strangers with Candy.
King of Glory
Chuck Noblet Eating
One of Colbert’s best gags is that he is constantly eating throughout the show.
Eyes to the Back of the Room
The Daily Show
Colbert is arguably the greatest Daily Show correspondent to ever grace the stage. Before his meteoric rise to fame, the majority of people interviewed by Colbert had no clue they were on a comedy show, which lead to some great…comedy! Here is Colbert’s best work from The Daily Show.
Pornographers join the Republican Party
This hilarious interview with a porn company who recently joined The Republican is spot on! He recently recreated this bit in an episode of The Colbert Report.
Even Stepvhen Medical Marijuana
ne of the greatest bits on The Daily Show was when Stephen Colbert and Steve Carrell would share the stage in a hardball style debate.
The Colbert Report
Colbert’s last stop before hitting the late show chair is his own original show The Colbert Report where he portrays a conservative caricature of himself. Most of his video are blocked on YouTube but here is his best moment from the last year, when he ripped apart the #CancelColbert movement.
