The best of hybrid living with Sanlorenzo’s innovative SX112 superyacht

With a bold, powerful and striking exterior design by studio Zuccon International Project, the SX112 crossover yacht from Italian yard Sanlorenzo continues to be a popular model for several key reasons. The flagship model of the SX crossover range from Sanlorenzo, which was introduced back in 2017, with the SX88, the bigger sister SX112 builds on the innovative design philosophy encompassed in the line.

A blend between an explorer yacht and a flybridge motor yacht, the Sanlorenzo SX112 features an open layout that flows seamlessly from bow to stern and reduces barriers to the outdoor spaces. Focusing on enhancing the connection between indoors and outdoors, the main focal point of the SX112 is the stern, which features an expandable beach club with retractable terraces to maximise the external link.

Measuring 34.16 metres in length, the original concept behind the SX line stems from architect Lucas Santella, while Sanlorenzo’s in-house art director Piero Lissoni was tasked with creating her refined yet minimalistic interior design. Designed with enhanced living out on the open waters and wide social spaces onboard, the interior layout flows organically from inside to outside. The use of premium Italian and Japanese materials throughout strengthens this connection, as does the use of large windows across her design. For example, the main deck features floor-to-ceiling windows on either side which flood the space with natural light while offering stunning views. Another key space for socialising and entertaining, the main deck is available in three different layouts depending on her owner’s wishes, including an option with the master suite forward or another with a galley. In each layout, the main deck is an open space flowing seamlessly from the dining to the living with a central spiral, sculptural staircase enclosed in glass linking the main deck with the flybridge deck and lower deck. The flybridge deck features a wheelhouse with another open area, complete with a bar, for dining. Sliding glass doors lead outside, where sun loungers provide the ideal sunbathing space or entertaining.

The lower deck houses accommodation for guests and crew, divided into four spacious ensuite cabins for guests. Depending on the chosen layout configuration, this can include a master suite with a walk-in wardrobe, two VIP ensuite cabins and one configurable twin ensuite cabin. Owners can also convert one of the cabin spaces into another lounge area, such a home theatre, depending on their wishes. Tastefully decorated, the neutral colour scheme devised by Lissoni creates a welcoming, warm and relaxing atmosphere onboard. In addition, Lissoni’s use of natural, quality materials across her design further strengthens the sense that the indoor spaces are β€œin constant dialogue with their outdoor counterparts.” Crew accommodation is located forward, consisting of a captain cabin as well as two double crew cabins. Powered by three IPS 1350 Volvo (1000 HP) engines, the SX112 has a top speed of 23 knots. Described as a “floating villa,” she is an ideal home away from home.
