Aziz Ansari and Amy Poehler provide some good laughs, and the show is an excellent rewind if you missed it when it aired over a decade ago.
Most Anticipated Return – Altered Carbon
Altered Carbon had a tremendous first season. This show kept the action, suspense, and thrills coming from the first episode through to the conclusion of the season. Joel Kinnaman is the star, playing an investigator looking into bioscience projects in the future.
Unfortunately, the nature of the show made Kinnaman replaceable, and Anthony Mackie gets the nod for season two, in a season that promises to be the action release of the year. Strap yourselves in and get ready to take a mind warp into the future of biohacking.
Best Apocalypse Show – Ash Vs. Evil Dead
Never let a good crisis go to waste. If you want to get in apocalypse mode, then turn on Ash Vs. Evil Dead. This show is three seasons of the most violent and crazy slasher-horror you’ll ever have the pleasure of watching. What makes Ash Vs. Evil dead so good is the way it blends comedy into an otherwise horrific show.
Ash is a man who spent the last 30-years of his life, avoiding responsibility. However, when a secret book leads to the unleashing of the apocalypse, Ash must gather himself and fight off the forces of evil. This show has some of the most horrific and violent scenes we’ve ever seen on TV.
It’s hard not to find yourself chuckling at Ash’s lines as he saws a demon in half. Bruce Campbell outdoes himself with this series, and it’s a quality way to spend your days quarantined together.
